Kyoto, October 3-8, 2005

Back in early October, we took a five-day trip to Kyoto, which was just wonderful. Kyoto is the polar opposite of hypermodern Tokyo – lots and lots of beautiful temples, shrines and gardens, all of which make you feel as if time is standing still. It’s a place that evokes nostalgia – Kyoto will make you start to “remember” a past that was never your own. Any visit to Japan of more than a week wouldn’t be complete without at least a couple of days there!
